From Times Staff and Wire Reports

Two young men were arrested and charged with sexual assault and cruelty after they allegedly raped a woman and videotaped their actions. Police in Danbury, Conn., said the 19-year-old victim reported the incident and the videotape was seized in a search of the apartment where the men allegedly attacked her after an evening out. Police Detective John Dimone said the woman told authorities she passed out from drinking, and when she awoke, the men showed her the videotape to dissuade her from going to police. “This was degradation, pure and simple,” Dimone told the Danbury News-Times. Beau William Kotach of Danbury and Chester Hrostek III of New Fairfield, Conn., both 21, were jailed in lieu of $300,000 bond pending arraignment on charges of first- and second-degree sexual assault, conspiracy, unlawful restraint of a person and cruelty.
