Fast Food to Go: Carl’s Jr. hopes to cash in on recession-weary would-be vacationers who are putting off taking a trip this year.
The Anaheim-based fast-food chain kicks off a contest today in which it will give away 50 family vacations. The game pieces come attached to the plastic cups that are handed to anyone who buys a large soft drink.
“Through this promotion, we can help 50 . . . guests and their families enjoy the vacation they might not have had otherwise,” said John Ferrar, vice president of marketing for parent company Carl Karcher Enterprises Inc.
Winners get a trip for up to four people, including round-trip air fare, five nights of hotel accommodations, car rental and up to $1,000 in spending money. The promotion ends Sept. 9.
