CYPRESS : Council Approves 10-Condo Complex

Share

After resolving concerns over landscaping, the City Council this week approved plans for a 10-unit apartment complex on Holder Street.

The two-bedroom condominiums, being constructed by Future Estates of Carson, will be at 9402 Holder St., across from Cypress College. A single-family home now occupies the property.

Council members expressed concerns over several plans for the project, including the location of the parking lot. The proposal calls for two buildings to be separated by a large driveway. Councilwoman Joyce C. Nicholson complained that it would provide a “tunnel effect” from the street.

To soften the impact, the developers agreed to plant trees at the driveway entrance. They also agreed to a few internal changes in the units. The typical unit is designed with a first-floor living area and second-floor bedrooms and a den.

After agreeing on the changes, the council unanimously approved the project.
