City Engineer Sam Peterson and Traffic Engineer Warren Siecke have been granted 6% raises by the City Council, which recently renewed their contracts.
Peterson, who has worked for Brea since 1949, has served as city engineer since 1980. His company, Sam Peterson & Asssociates, during the last year has helped oversee the completion of several capital improvement projects, including realignment of Randolph Avenue and upgrading of Lambert Road and State College Boulevard.
He billed the city more than $1.4 million last year for his company’s services.
The council modified his contract to include ceilings for invoices and a detailed billing system to allow for easier tracking of actual costs.
Siecke, who has been city traffic engineer since 1975, is in charge of general traffic engineering functions. Last year he provided the city with $111,000 worth of services, including the design of all traffic signals in the city’s $30-million capital improvement program and completion of the citywide master plan for computer control and synchronization of all signals.
