CALIFORNIA IN BRIEF : SAN JOSE : State Closes Nursing Home, Cites Neglect
- Share via
State investigators closed a Santa Clara nursing home where they said patients’ lives were in danger from staff neglect. Lakeview Lodge care home was shut down and its 20 residents moved to other facilities or to relatives’ homes after investigators found untreated bedsores, a misdiagnosed stroke, and a failure to provide prompt attention to a patient who fell. Nursing home owner Rosalinda Hartwig accused state officials of closing the home and suspending her license as part of a vendetta against her. Hartwig also owns two other nursing homes that are under investigation but were not closed.
