What Did Rader Do to Deserve All This?

I got a big kick out of Mike Marshall’s comments upon leaving from his 48-hour, 0-for-7 stint with the Angels.

He said he was planning to “kick back” the rest of the season. My word, what has he been doing his whole career? If he kicked back any more, they’d have to call the paramedics. Then he had the nerve to say he might consider coming back to the major leagues if he could play every day. Wake up, pal! You couldn’t string together five consecutive games without letting a hangnail keep you on the pine.

Maybe Japan is the place for you, Mikey. You could turn “the Land of the Rising Sun” into “the Land of the Falling Bum.”
