Pepper Picking Tips

When picking sweet peppers, twist the stem as you pull the pepper, to snap the fruit off the plant without breaking the branch. Cantaloupe is ready for picking when the melon pulls easily from its stem. Pick tomatoes before a heavy rain; a sudden deluge causes the skin to crack open.
