Marking the Spot Is Automatic

Share

Mark-o-Matic is a handy measuring tape with built-in markers to accurately measure and mark a surface simultaneously.

Manufactured in England, the 16-foot metal tape is calibrated in feet and inches, comes in a sturdy plastic case and has an automatic power return.

But its unusual feature is its marking capability. The device has retractable front and rear pencil leads at the base of the tape rule which emerge with the push of a button on the side of the tape case.

To mark metal, glass or other hard materials, you can interchange the pencil lead for steel scribes. Four additional leads and two scribes are included in a small compartment at the top of the tape case. There’s a nickel-plated belt clip on the back of the case.

Mark-o-Matic ($9.95, plus $3 shipping and handling) can be purchased from M & E Enterprises, P.O. Box 37, 295 Lake Shore Drive, Pleasantville, N.Y. 10570; (914) 769-1395.

Beach Buggy Doesn’t Just Lounge Around

Attention beach-goers, picnickers and RV travelers: Beach Buggy is a canvas lounge chair that converts into a handcart to pull the cooler and other indispensable extras for your family outing.

Developed by a Delray Beach, Fla., couple for their own use, Beach Buggy has a heavy-gauge steel frame with two sturdy, six-inch wheels that won’t bog down in the sand. Ken and Bev Wilson, the developers, say Beach Buggy has been tested to carry up to 80 pounds. The combination chair/cart weighs 11 1/2 pounds, and its blue nylon cover is removable and machine-washable. When used as a chair, it can be adjusted to various positions.

Neat Dispenser Puts Squeeze on Toothpaste

Crest has introduced Neat Squeeze, a combination tube-pump toothpaste dispenser that maintains its shape after each use. Like other pump dispensers, Neat Squeeze sits upright on the bathroom sink or countertop.

The six-ounce Neat Squeeze is soft and squeezeable like a toothpaste tube but dispenses like a pump. It pulls unused paste back inside the dispenser after you squeeze it, eliminating the mess around the opening. Neat Squeeze ($1.99 to $2.39) is available nationwide in all Crest varieties at drug, grocery and mass-merchandise stores. Vons, Lucky and Ralphs are among Southern California stores that carry the dispenser.
