That the legal profession needs drastic reform is best exemplified by the William Kennedy Smith proceedings. The alleged crime took place Easter, 1991, and the trial is now scheduled for January, 1992.
Why the 10-month delay? That’s easy to answer. The lawyers’ clocks need time to run. It was reported that Smith’s legal bills will exceed $1 million.
