U.S. Voices Concern for Jailed Chinese Dissidents

The United States is concerned and disturbed over the treatment of two Chinese dissidents jailed for their role in the pro-democracy demonstrations at Tian An Men Square, the State Department said Friday.

Meanwhile, three members of the House have left for Beijing to lead a U.S. delegation that hopes to visit the pair, who are on a hunger strike to protest conditions in which they are being held, organizers said.
