Re: “The Elvis Files” (Aug. 14, syndicated). Why do people have such an overriding need to believe that superstars like Elvis Presley are still alive? Are there so few living heroes around that we have to devote our attention to dead ones? It is extremely unlikely that Elvis is alive today, as he had such a big ego that in no way could he remain anonymous for 14 years.
