The Garden Grove Unified School District has reached a tentative agreement with 1,500 teachers, nurses and librarians on a 3% pay raise for the 1991-92 school year.
The agreement will go before the employees’ union and the district’s trustees for final approval.
On Aug. 29, the district and the Garden Grove Education Assn. signed a plan to raise starting salaries from $26,442 to $27,235, and top-end salaries from $51,653 to 53,202, according to district spokesman Alan Trudell. The agreement, retroactive to Sept. 1, would become effective immediately if approved, at a cost to the district of $3.6 million.
Members of the employees’ association will hold a ratification vote next week. The trustees will consider the proposal on Sept. 17.
