Monrovia : Stop Signs Approved
Installation of stop signs at Valley View and Mountain avenues was approved unanimously Tuesday by the City Council after a group of angry parents protested the dangers their children face walking to school.
Bradoaks Elementary School pupils living near and on Mountain Avenue above Foothill Boulevard walk on a narrow, winding street with no sidewalks. Vehicle speeds average 37.5 m.p.h., parents said.
School bus pickups in the area have been cut, but the district hopes to begin a private, bus-for-a-fee service on Monday, school Supt. Louise Taylor said.
