Panel Delays Action on Jordan Ranch Report

Share

A Ventura County panel reviewing an environmental report on the proposed Jordan Ranch project near the Los Angeles and Ventura county border decided Wednesday to delay a decision on the report for a month.

After more than an hour of testimony, the county’s Environmental Report Review Committee voted unanimously to postpone until Oct. 2 a decision on whether the environmental impact report on the project is adequate.

The delay is needed so the staff can respond to concerns raised by environmentalists and Agoura Hills residents about increased traffic.

Potomac Investment Associates, which has an option on Jordan Ranch, wants to build 750 homes and a tournament golf course on the property.

If the review committee proclaims the environmental report adequate at the Oct. 2 meeting, the entire project will go before the Ventura County Planning Commission in November. The final decision by the Ventura County Board of Supervisors is expected sometime next year.
