Peace Corps Chief Resigns

WASHINGTON —
President Bush on Wednesday accepted the resignation of Paul D. Coverdell as director of the Peace Corps, clearing the way for his possible run for the U.S. Senate from Georgia. Coverdell, 52, who has been head of the Peace Corps since May, 1989, is a former chairman of the Republican Party in Georgia.
