Semiconductor Orders Fall in August: The traditional summer slowdown in domestic semiconductor orders led to a decline in the industry’s book-to-bill ratio in August, according to statistics released by the Semiconductor Industry Assn. August bookings--orders based on a three-month moving average--were $1.21 billion, down 2.5% from July’s $1.24 billion. August bookings were 1.2% lower than the $1.22 billion for August, 1990.
