Glendale Woman, 79, Dies After Car Hits Her
A Glendale woman was killed Monday after being struck by a car as she crossed the street, police said.
Doris Champland Kraemer, 79, was crossing Verdugo Road at Broadview Drive when she was hit by a northbound Mercury coupe shortly before 11:20 a.m., Glendale Police Sgt. Terry Jones said.
Kraemer suffered massive head and abdominal injuries and was taken to Huntington Memorial Hospital in Pasadena, Jones said. She died about 2:45 p.m. Jones said it was unclear at what speed the driver of the coupe, Jean Watson, 65, was going when the accident occurred. The accident is under investigation.
