Cerritos : Senior Citizens Nutrition Program Offered at Church

Senior citizens can get lunch and companionship Monday through Friday at the new seniors nutrition site that recently opened at St. John’s Lutheran Church, 18422 Bloomfield Ave., in Cerritos.

The lunch program is being operated by the Human Services Assn. of Bell Gardens with funding from the association and from the federal government under the Older Americans Act. The site offers a hot lunch for seniors at 12:30 p.m. at a cost of $1.35 a day. Younger people are welcome as guests but must pay $3 for lunch.

Senior citizens and their guests must make reservations by calling 773-3911.

Homebound seniors age 60 and older can arrange to have meals delivered.
