Controversy Over ACT UP Film

In his “A Case of Bigotry?” advertisement (Part A, Sept. 6) against KCET’s decision to broadcast “Stop the Church,” Cardinal Roger Mahony states, “We in Southern California must constantly remind ourselves that we live in a pluralistic society whose very survival demands that we continually strive to live together harmoniously, respecting each person’s human dignity regardless of race, ethnic origin, religion or any other distinction.”
Listen to your own words, Cardinal. Who’s being the bigot here?
The Catholic Church needs to wake up and realize the harm it has done and continues to do by suppressing people on the pretense it knows what’s best for them to read, view and think. Thanks to KCET for not succumbing to a form of censorship.
