OXNARD : Council Votes Today on Plans for Mall
- Share via
Oxnard’s City Council is scheduled to vote today on whether to authorize staff members to begin negotiations with a Sherman Oaks development company to bring a 550,000-square-foot mall to the city.
The shopping mall, which is being proposed for the northwest corner of Rose Avenue and Gonzales Road, would have four major retail outlets and several smaller stores.
The City Council will also consider waiving several development fees as an incentive to the Rothbart Development Corp., which plans to build the mall.
Among the fees being considered for total or partial reimbursement are development fees, infrastructure fees and sales taxes.
In exchange, the city might ask for revenue guarantees, city officials said.
