No Nude Is Good Nude: Michelangelo’s “David” proved too daring for a junior high school in Eugene, Ore., which pulled the plug on its first day of carrying Channel One, the in-school news program for youngsters. Channel One had reported about a man in Italy who attacked the nude statue with a hammer and damaged one of its feet. “What concerned us was the full, front view of the sculpture,” said Elna Robinette, Madison Middle School media specialist. “For the first day of showing, we wouldn’t want to show anything that parents would be offended by.”
