Kings Play Exhibition Game Tonight

Share

Playing with a short roster because of players’ participation in the Canada Cup tournament, the Kings seek their first exhibition victory tonight against a team making its first visit to the Forum.

The San Jose Sharks (1-1-1 in their first exhibition season as an expansion team) come to call after tying the Kings, 1-1, Tuesday night at Fresno.

The Kings (0-1-1) will be without Wayne Gretzky, Luc Robitaille and Tony Granato, who played in the final series of the Canada Cup and are not required to report to training camp before Tuesday. Jarri Kurri and Tomas Sandstrom, who played for Finland, which was eliminated earlier in the tournament, also are not expected to play.

Gretzky, injured when he was checked into the boards during the Canada Cup finals against the United States, is listed as day to day and is resting at home.
