Ford Boosts 1992 Prices: Ford Motor Co. has notified its U.S. dealers that the average suggested retail price increase for 1992-model cars and light trucks is 3.5% over comparably equipped existing models. Compared to preliminary prices provided to dealers in July, the new prices are down 0.2 of a percentage point for cars and 0.4 of a percentage point for light trucks. The new prices will be effective on Sept. 26. Daihatsu America, a unit of Daihatsu Motor Corp., said prices for its 1992 models will increase an average of 3.7%.
