LINGUISTIC GIANT

Share

Noam Chomsky’s latest offering (“Deterring Democracy,” June 23) receives a three-column-inch hatchet job that refers to him as “a linguistics professor” and a “skilled rhetorician--the Left’s answer to William F. Buckley.”

Chomsky is, in fact, one of the giants in the field of linguistics, and that reference to his credentials is a little bit like calling Albert Einstein a “good little scientist” who knows something about relativity.
