Dana Point General Plan Defended and Derided

Share

After 13 months of refinement and 45 public meetings, the City Council unanimously approved the city of Dana Point’s General Plan. I commend the council for listening to the residents and balancing the future financial needs of the city for the next 20 years with residents’ requests for reduced density and traffic.

The city should not waste our time or money entertaining motions to place the General Plan on hold, pending some future election.

The public has spoken via 45 public meetings, and--miracle of miracles--five politically diverse City Council members have voted unanimously to approve the plan.

The General Plan fairly meets the needs of the people and the city. So let’s get on with business and move ahead!
