The Federal Reserve Bank of Cleveland confirmed that W. Lee Hoskins is resigning as the bank’s president to join Columbus, Ohio-based Huntington National Bank as president and chief executive.
Hoskins, who joined the Fed in Cleveland in 1987, has also been named vice chairman of the $9.5-billion bank’s holding company, Huntington Bancshares Inc., and will be a director of both companies.
Hoskins replaces William J. Williams as CEO of Huntington National Bank. Williams will remain chairman until his expected retirement next year, the bank said in a statement.
The current president, T. Carl Alderman, has been named vice chairman.
Hoskins is to leave the Cleveland Fed in mid-November.
