OJAI : Housing Project to Be Discussed
The effects of a controversial low-income housing project in Ojai will be debated tonight at a City Council hearing.
The city’s Redevelopment Agency set aside $300,000 this year to help Cabrillo Economic Development Corp. build the 21-unit project.
But nearby residents have voiced concerns about the project’s effect on water supplies, sewer systems, school class sizes, air quality and traffic.
The Planning Commission recommended approval of the 21-unit project on Sept. 4 after receiving a petition signed by 425 people who oppose it.
The 7:30 p.m. hearing is at 508 N. Montgomery St.
