COLLEGE FOOTBALL DAILY REPORT : USC : Road Sweeter Than Home

Share

Starting Saturday night against Oregon at Eugene, USC will be on the road for all but three of its last eight games and four of its next five.

But that may not be a disadvantage for the Trojans. Since last Oct. 6, USC is 1-4-1 at the Coliseum. In the same period, the Trojans are 4-0 on the road.

On the other hand, Oregon has won its past 10 home games. The Ducks haven’t lost in Autzen Stadium since Oct. 7, 1989, when Washington State beat them, 51-38.

Fullback Scott Lockwood, who awoke Friday with a swollen knee and didn’t dress for Saturday’s 32-25 loss to Arizona State, is still listed as doubtful. . . . Linebacker Willie McGinest, who also sat out against ASU, is listed as doubtful with a sprained ankle. . . . USC is 1-2 for the first time since 1985, only the second time since 1961.
