Glendale police seized 86 pounds of cocaine with an estimated street value of $3.1 million and arrested nine men in raids at four San Fernando Valley residences, authorities said Wednesday.

Officers also seized $10,000 to $12,000 in cash Tuesday night at locations in Van Nuys, Chatsworth and two in North Hollywood, Sgt. Lief Nicolaisen said.

The arrests followed a two-day investigation by Glendale police and the Los Angeles County district attorney’s office, he said. The ring had been in operation three to six months.

Those arrested included four San Fernando Valley residents: Eduardo Rosales, 24, of North Hollywood, and Gustavo Ibanez, 29, Salvador Fletes Ocampo, 26, and Eulalio Bogarin, 25, all of Van Nuys.

Also arrested was Lucio Rosales, 27, of Hesperia and Mexican nationals Fernando Tapia Camacho, 28, Marcos Navarro, 21, and Arturo Garcia Nunes, 33.

Police also arrested another man, who gave his name as Lucio Rosales. He told authorities he is a 24-year-old Mexican citizen, Nicolaisen said.

The suspects were booked on suspicion of conspiracy to distribute cocaine and held at the Glendale Jail. Bail was set at $2 million each. They are scheduled to be arraigned today in Los Angeles Municipal Court, Nicolaisen said.

This is the second major cocaine seizure by Glendale police in two weeks.
