Lennon Replaces Lenthall as HomeAid Executive Director
Mike Lennon, director of public affairs for Los Angeles County’s Building Industry Assn., has been appointed the new executive director of HomeAid for Southern California, the nonprofit charitable arm of BIA of Southern California.
Lennon, who also served as director of HomeAid Orange County, replaces Judith Lenthall, a former city of San Diego planner who was hired by HomeAid 18 months ago to help establish the program throughout Southern California.
Lenthall introduced Adopt-A-Shelter programs to the BIA/SC regions and HomeAid contractual relationships with the cities of Long Beach, San Bernardino, Brea and Santa Ana. She will continue as a consultant in the development of future permanent housing projects.
HomeAid volunteers from building-related professions construct and renovate shelters for persons who need 30 to 180 days in a comprehensive care program. The program has also initiated its first permanent shelter, the Sammy Davis Jr. Home in Los Angeles.
