College Comparisons

In pursuit of my medical degree, I spent five years in undergraduate studies in Northern California and then went to UCLA for another four years of medical school. After reading the thoughtful article by Ryan Harvey (Opinion, Sept. 15) explaining why he chose a small college over the looming university, I wanted to pack my bags and do it all over again.

Indeed, Harvey presents a compelling challenge to the misconception that bigger is better in education. He also identified the reason why education is failing in this country. Educators have lost their vision to teach. Concerning themselves with their own individual projects, they have distanced themselves from their pupils.
