Ventura : Restaurant Robbed at Takeout Counter
A Ventura restaurant was robbed at gunpoint Wednesday night by three men who employees thought were picking up a to-go order of food, a police spokesman said.
An undetermined amount of cash was stolen in the 9:40 p.m. holdup at China Dynasty Restaurant, 2855 Johnson Dr., after the suspects entered the restaurant and approached the takeout counter, Police Lt. Don W. Arth said.
“They asked for some change and when the employee opened the drawer, one man pulled a gun,” Arth said.
Arth said several customers were seated in the back of the restaurant during the robbery, but no one was alarmed.
The restaurant manager declined comment about the incident.
The robbery investigation is continuing, Arth said.
