HEALTH HORIZONS : Letter from the Editor

Share

Welcome to the inaugural issue of Health Horizons, a Los Angeles Times twice-a-year special section that we hope will give you an insightful look into the increasingly complex world of health. We will take you from head (Sinking Feeling, p. 6) to foot (Podiatry Takesa Giant Step Forward, p. 8), and on a guided tour of our outer covering (Shedding New Light on the Skin, p. 24). Which exercise equipment is best? How much snacking is OK? Why do many of us get so tired? This and future issues of Health Horizons will strive to help make sense of medicine, nutrition, psychology and fitness and aid in making choices that could improve your health. The Times’ staff of medical and science writers, editors, photographers and graphic designers has been joined by top free-lance health writers and illustrators in producing our first issue. We hope you enjoy it.
