From Times Staff and Wire Reports

The bones of hundreds of Kodiak Island natives were reburied at Larsen Bay, Alaska, in a Russian Orthodox ceremony nearly 60 years after the Smithsonian Institution took them for research without islanders’ permission. The skeletal remains of 756 people were flown home last month in cardboard boxes. Some of the remains were 2,000 years old.
