High Court Asked to Overturn Ruling: Opponents of a decision that allows the nation’s regional Bell telephone companies to immediately offer information services have asked the Supreme Court to suspend the ruling while the matter is being appealed. The opponents, including newspaper publishers, existing computer information providers, consumer groups and the long-distance telephone firm MCI Communications Corp., sought to overturn the decision by a federal appeals court last week.
