Birtcher Medical Systems Inc.: Boosted by sales of its advanced electrosurgical products, Birtcher Medical Systems Inc. reported Tuesday that revenue for the first quarter ended Sept. 30 was $8.4 million, up 17% from the same period last year. Birtcher Medical, a small Irvine company which makes surgical products for hospitals, said its net income for the quarter more than doubled to $683,000 from $327,000 a year ago.
