Former Leader’s Trial Resumes in Bulgaria

SOFIA, Bulgaria —
The trial of Bulgaria’s former Communist leader Todor Zhivkov resumed Wednesday after a five-month break due to his ill health.
The 80-year-old Zhivkov, ousted in November, 1989, went on trial in February on charges of misappropriating state funds during his 35 years in power.
