WORLD IN BRIEF : VIETNAM : Don’t Link MIAs, Ties, Hanoi Urges

Hanoi, calling Washington’s bid to begin normalizing relations “positive,” urged the United States not to link the process with developments in Cambodia and the issue of missing American soldiers. Deputy Foreign Minister Le Mai said Hanoi will continue working with Washington to resolve the MIA issue but that normalization should not be linked to it. He said international developments have outpaced Washington’s “road map” plan for improving relations.
