Shipshape Data: Rockwell International Corp. has won a $20.5-million contract from the U.S. Navy to build data networks that distribute information throughout a ship.

Rockwell’s Autonetics Marine and Aircraft Systems Division in Anaheim will build the systems for three guided-missile destroyers.

Rockwell has been building such systems since 1985. The new systems will be delivered in 1993.

The system, which would replace miles of traditional wiring, would link various electronic systems aboard the ships.
