ARISTOCRAT’S BLOOM: Paul Brecht, who runs a boardinghouse for orchids at his Costa Mesa greenhouse (E2), says he has specialized in orchids for 30 years. . . . “There’s a mystery about them that fascinates me,” Brecht says. “They used to be the real aristocracy; they still are, though you can buy them lots of places now.” Brecht boards almost 7,000 annually, turning them back over to their owners in time for blooming.
