Met Winners: Los Angeles mezzos Paula Rasmussen and Michelle Deyoung shared first place in the Metropolitan Opera Western Regional Auditions, leading a sweep for local singers. Each received $3,400 from the competition held Saturday at USC, and will represent the West at the national finals in New York next spring. Contralto Ellen Rabiner won second place, and bass-baritone Richard Bernstein took third.
