Azusa : City Administrator Named
Filling a two-year vacancy, the City Council appointed Henry Garcia as city administrator Monday.
The city has not had a permanent administrator since Julio Fuentes left in December, 1989, to become city manager of Pomona. Fred Diaz, who had been assistant administrator, served in an interim position until October, 1990, when he left to work for the city of Indio. He was followed by George Caswell, a consultant who served until recently as interim administrator.
Garcia, 34, was hired by Azusa in May as assistant city administrator. Before that, he was assistant city manager in San Jacinto.
