Jim Sanfilippo has been appointed executive vice president of Backer Spielvogel Bates Inc. in Irvine. In his new position, he will be responsible for the advertising agency’s Hyundai account business, Hyundai Motor America and Hyundai Dealer Advertising associations. Sanfilippo was previously senior vice president on the Hyundai Motor America account. Robert Svete is succeeding him in that position.
