You have courageously reminded the world that one should never take anything for granted. And you have always made it so easy to take you for granted. On the basketball court, you were always a “sure thing.” You always put on a great show, you always made incredible plays, you always won. And off the court, you have always been an even bigger champion, a champion to all the children and others you’ve touched with your generosity.

Thank you, thank you, thank you! I hope and pray that we’ll all continue to be thanking you, for just being yourself, well into the next century.
