Peace Talks in Madrid

Share

President Bush would like to see a Mideast settlement. The only thing that would prompt the Arabs to settle would be the acquisition of the West Bank, Gaza and the Golan Heights. These areas were taken as a result of military attacks on Israel.

An exchange of land for peace would provide the Arabs with land and Israel with a piece of paper which indicates that peace exists. In reality, giving up the land would provide terrorists, such as Assad of Syria, with a greater advantage when the time comes for an invasion of Israel.

Israel stands alone against several Arab nations with many millions of people. Everything necessary must be done to protect and defend the right of Israel to exist as a free nation. An exchange of land for a promise of peace would prove to be suicidal. The Israeli people are not stupid!
