School Board Member Gains Support

Thank you for the well-written story on Jeff Horton (“A Difficult Test,” Nov. 1).

Horton is correct in stepping forward and making himself heard on issues not being addressed by the educational community or being circumvented by special interest groups. It is clear that education is the wave of the future and the only hope for anyone who wants to increase his or her chances for getting ahead.

The bigotry expounded by such people as Louis Sheldon only distracts from the real aim of educating our young. Jeff Horton is making a positive difference through education in preparing our children for the future. Jeff cares. Our community owes it to him to support his gallant efforts.
