The Westminster School District’s Foundation for Educational Excellence has awarded more than $2,000 to several teachers as part of a “mini-grant” program to help educators purchase new equipment and materials for their classes.

This year, the nonprofit organization provided eight grants ranging from $140 to $400 to pay for computer and video equipment, bilingual and cultural materials and history books, according to Sylvia Garrett, president of the foundation.
