Nominees for Intelsat Chief Disclosed: An American, an Australian, a Briton and an Indonesian have been nominated to be director general of Intelsat to replace Dean Burch, who died Aug. 4, the 121-nation telecommunications satellite organization said. The four are: Irving Goldstein, U.S. Comsat Corp. chairman; John Hampton of Australia, Intelsat’s acting director general; John Mills, special adviser in a policy unit of the British prime minister’s office, and Jonathan Parapak, secretary general of Indonesia’s Ministry of Tourism, Post and Telecommunications. The nomination will be considered at an Intelsat board meeting in Washington beginning Dec. 5.
