Salem’s Tragedy Is Too Commercialized

Since there is absolutely no correlation between the so-called “witches” of today and those 158-plus persons--men, women and children--accused of witchcraft in Massachusetts in 1692, why is the myth still propounded? (“The Trials of Being a Witch,” Oct. 31).
These 20th-Century witches, along with so many others in Salem, Mass., have commercialized a tragic event involving totally innocent people.
