Digital, Apple Announce Sales Plan: Digital Equipment Corp. and Apple Computer Inc. announced plans to sell each other’s computers in Europe, marking the latest in a series of computer industry alliances. Digital and Apple have collaborated since 1988 to devise networks that use products from both companies. But the latest agreement, expected to be completed early next year, will more closely link Apple’s Macintosh desktop computers with Digital’s computer networking technology.
